Europe Releases New Travel Guidelines For 2023 With A Visa Waiver Scheme

Planning to travel to Europe in 2023? Then be aware of the new rules of the continent. Europe has launched a travel authorisation portal called the European Travel Information and Authorization System ( ETIAS). At present, travellers from destinations like Australia and North America do not need visas to enter Schengen countries. But from January 1, 2023, travellers to Europe will need to register themselves on the ETIAS portal.

European Travel Information and Authorization System ( ETIAS)

ETIAS is a visa waiver programme and the registration will be mandatory for visiting any of the Schengen countries. Nations in the Schengen area include:

  • Finland
  • Switzerland
  • France
  • Belgium
  • Hungary
  • Austria
  • Germany
  • Portugal
  • Slovakia
  • Italy
  • Slovenia
  • Spain
  • Greece
  • Netherlands
  • Malta
  • Poland
  • The Czech Republic
  • Sweden
  • Estonia
  • Iceland
  • Luxembourg
  • Norway
  • Latvia
  • Liechtenstein

The Form Submission Fee Is 7 Euros

Those visiting one or more of the above countries will need to do the ETIAS registration. Registration is easy. Applicants need to visit  http://www.etias.com and fill out a form. The submission fee of 7 euros. Kids under 18 years of age and elderly people above 70 years do not need to pay the submission fee. While filling out the form, applicants need to keep their passports ready. The payment can be done with debit or credit cards.
