Fake News Alert! Amul Tells People To Ignore Video Of Fake Amul Butter Made In China

If you aren’t living under a rock, you’d be aware of a video circulating on social media, even WhatsApp forwards of Made-in-China Amul butter. The video shows a person comparing two packets of Amul butter and drawing differences between the two. He goes on to conclude that China is manufacturing fake Amul butter to confuse consumers. To put all conspiracy theories and rumours to rest, Amul called out the fake news. Here’s more about it.

Amul Calls Out The Fake Video Circulating The Internet

The viral video circulating the Internet shows a person drawing the differences between two big packets of Amul butter. He goes on to say that one packet has a green symbol creating awareness that the butter is vegetarian and the other doesn’t have this. The Netizen goes on to tell the Internet that one of the packets of butter is manufactured in China. Well, here’s giving you a fake news alert.

Both Butter Packets Manufactured In India

Amul took to its Instagram handle @amul_india to inform everyone that the video circulated on WhatsApp and other social media platforms is fake. It goes on to inform that both the Amul butter packets shown in the video, irrespective of the differences in their packaging are genuine and manufactured in India. The dairy giant states that as per the guidelines of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India, all new Amul dairy products will henceforth contain the veg logo.

Amul further reveals in its statement that the viral video actually compares the old butter packing with the new one. And then, this video is being used to create fear and spread misinformation among Netizens. The dairy company also revealed that the individuals in Srinagar, involved in creating this fake news are sent a legal notice by the team.
