Except that Indian credit cards loaded on GPay don’t work at the London Underground turnstiles :(
— Naman (नमन) (@namanpugalia) July 10, 2024
Doesn’t work with Indian cards loaded on gpay for London bus and tube. But works when the card is directly tapped. Atleast for me with HDFC

Works very well, you need to ensure your phone is tap and pay compatible. If it’s iphone from Indja, wont work however if it’s Android, will work flawlessly.

Best when you can just tap your smart watch and travel on all of London transport.
— Arnav Gupta (@championswimmer) July 10, 2024
It’s different

This GPay is different from Google Pay for India UPI.
— Amlan Mohapatra (@amlan_m25) July 11, 2024
This is very different from what Indians use though.
Tez/GPay in India is all about UPI , The GPay in London Underground is contactless which is much more efficient than UPI. Most of India still does’nt have contactless.
— Abhay (@abhayvx) July 11, 2024
its not upi its contactless global version
— Raj Gupta (@DrRAJsaves) July 11, 2024
Is @GooglePay and @GooglePayIndia even the same? I doubt so. The 2 were only merged pretty late to make only part of the stack common.
— Bhel (@Chr1sBhel) July 11, 2024
This is not the same as Indian GPay….
— True_light 🇮🇳 (@Truelight1947) July 11, 2024
Is GPay not a global product developed by US? I have seen it in Europe all along. What’s the India reference here?
— Nilesh Dorik (@NileshDorik) July 11, 2024
How can someone who worked at Google Pay not know the difference between Google pay and Google pay India?
— roodrraa (@roodrraa) July 11, 2024
People also had some questions about whether Indian GPay works in London or not.
Does it support UPI there??
— Devender kumar (@fakarshi) July 11, 2024
