Goa Carnival 2021 Kicks Off In Style; COVID Vaccine Awareness Is The Theme Of The Year

Goa is full of festivities and carnivals, but the celebrations look a bit different this year with the pandemic. This year, the Goa Carnival kicked off with lots of restrictions. However, the fascinating float parades were still a part of the Carnival. There were mask revellers on streets declaring three-days of fun and frolic.

Face Masks Distributed During The Carnival

A lot of local tourists cheered the revellers during the Carnival. A lot of people wore masks at the Carnival, and thousands were distributed free. While the masks were not carnivalesque in design, they covered the mouth and nose to contain the spread of the virus. Escape The Goa Crowd & Chill In This Secluded Beach Villa Few Hours From Mumbai.

The Opening Float Promoted COVID-19 Vaccine

Revellers made a mockery of Covid-19 norms to attend Carnival in Panjim, the first government-organised tourism festival in the state post-lockdown. Revellers brushed the COVID-19 norms under the carpet. Quite ironically, the opening float by King Momo, promoted the Covid vaccine and thousands of people gathered around it to capture the image. The Carnival Witnessed A Mix Of Tradition And Creativity

Since the state is open to tourists, many vloggers and YouTubers attended the Carnival and shared pictures of the various tableaux on social media. The carnival parade witnessed a mix of tradition and creativity in the tableaux that consisted of floats in multiple categories. Each of the floats has a social message to impart. One of the floats depicted the need to save the forests. They feature a statue of malnourished human breathing oxygen through a ventilator attached to a plant.
