Goa’s Iconic Club Tito’s Shut Down & Sold Off; Marks The End Of An Era!

Goa is India’s is one of the most happening party places in India with clubs and lounges at every nook and corner of the beach destination. But if there is one club that always made our Goa trip even more memorable, it has to be the iconic Club Tito’s. In very disheartening news, the owners of Club Tito’s, one of Goa’s most happening nightlife spots announced that they have shut down the club and sold it due to harassment by authorities and NGOs.

The Iconic Club Tito’s Sold Off

Located at North Goa’s Baga Beach, Tito’s has been synonymous with Goa’s nightlife. Richardo Joseph D’Souza, whose family owns the club took to Facebook to announce the news. He wrote. “It is with sadness but with anger that we have sold our entire business in Goa. I personally have suffered the least as I was compensated adequately and even my future generations won’t have to work.”

He further added “I will also share some with our staff but in the long term they have no jobs. Can I please ask our officials to employ them as I do not ever plan any more business in Goa.”

Owner Of Club Tito’s Claims They Were Harassed By NGOs & Police Department

While D’Souza did not share any information about the new owner, he said that he was harassed by officials from the police department, the Planning, and Development Authority, the Coastal Regulation Zone, NGOs, panchayat, and sarpanches, Block Development Officers, Deputy Collectors, and others.

The old owner however mentioned on his Facebook post that he was grateful to a certain segment of the government like Dr Sawant (chief minister Pramod Sawant), the IAS officers, ex-staff, present staff, his neighbours, friends and family, and the common people of Goa who contributed to this great brand called Tito’s.
