The forthcoming wedding season is now being touted as ‘Covid superspreader’. In order to ensure people at weddings follow COVID-19 guidelines, cops will attend weddings at Haryana’s Gurugram. Police To Attend Gurugram Wedding To Ensure People Follow COVID Rules

Since the wedding season begins from November 25, cops in Haryana are taking extra measures to ensure that weddings in Gurugram follow Covid guidelines. Local police officials will compulsorily visit each wedding happening in Gurugram. And they shall also take videos of COVID-19 regulation violations. This includes excessive gatherings, people not wearing masks. So folks at Gurugram violating Covid regulations at weddings can expect challans from the cops.

Gurugram police officials have already started exploring wedding venues in the city to prevent COVID infections. KK Rao, Police commissioner informed  The Tribune that all DCPs, ACPs and SHOs must identify crowded areas in their respective jurisdictions in Gurugram. They must also visit those places and ensure that people follow government orders. Apart from this police officials will also distribute masks and ask people to wear them. Cops will take strict action against people who disobey rules.

Cops To Take Videos Of Weddings Violating Guidelines

This strict rule comes up in Gurugram due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in Haryana. The state recorded a total of 2,19,963 cases and total fatalities of 2216 as of November 23. To ensure people follow guidelines, Haryana police fined around 91,707 people for not wearing masks. Folks at Gurugram can expect cops to attend weddings without any invitation. They will run a  thorough investigation to make sure people follow all government guidelines.
