A Dinner Date To Remember….!

In the remote expanses of Edakkal, lies the historic Edakkal caves which have some rarest carvings from the Stone Age. As a matter of fact, Edekkal is known to be the only place in Kerala to have Stone Age carvings. Inside the caves, there are pictorial writings of the Neolithic period that are believed to date back around 6000 BCE. Fred Fawcett had discovered the caves in 1890 when we went on a hunting trip to Wayanad. The caves sit at 1200 metres above sea level, on the Ambukutty Mala mountains. Trekking the rugged terrains and lush greenery to reach the caves is a different kind of thrill altogether. And a candle-light dinner inside the cave can give one the feeling of landing on the seventh heaven.
