Goa is unofficially the alcohol capital of the country. That alcohol in Goa is cheaper than water is a joke that everyone is familiar with. People basically go to Goa just to drink and party. So, of course, people would want to buy alcohol there when returning to their homes. Do you know how much alcohol you can carry in your check-in baggage while flying out of Goa? No? Here’s How Much Alcohol You Can Carry In Your Check-In Baggage

According to the official website of IndiGo, you can carry up to 5 litres of alcoholic beverages. But wait! That’s not all. There are specific conditions that require fulfilment. The beverage must be in retail packaging and should be secure enough to prevent spillage or any other accidents. Moreover, the alcohol content of the beverage should be less than 70%.

This 5-litre limitation is only applicable if the beverage that you’re carrying contains an alcohol content of 24% or higher. If the alcohol content in the beverage that you’re carrying in your check-in baggage is less than 24%, then the 5-litre limitation will not be applicable.

Other Details About Taking Alcohol On Flight

Alcoholic beverages are also allowed in carry-on luggage provided they are bought from the Airport Security Hold Area. The same should be packed in resealable plastic bags whose capacity is 1 litre or less. The size of these bags should be 20.5 cm x 20.5 cm or 25 cm x 15 cm or similar. Moreover, the bag in which the alcoholic beverages are placed should be fully closed and the plastic bag should fit comfortably inside the bag.
