When someone talks about India and the rich architecture of our country, the first architectural marvel to pop into everyone’s mind is the ‘Taj Mahal’. The mausoleum built by Shah Jahan is one of the seven wonders of the world. The Mughal emperor built the mausoleum complex in memory of his wife, Mumtaz Mahal. Construction of the white-wonder tomb spanned almost 22 years and was completed in 1648. We can never likely add a price tag to this wonder but to know about its cost presently is surely an interesting topic.

Facts Associated With Building The Taj Mahal?

It has been centuries since the mausoleum was built. There are so many stories and information attached to the construction and building of this architecture. The most striking fact is that over twenty thousand workers worked in building this mausoleum complex and finished it in 22 years. The workers were not only from India, thousands of them came from Persia, Europe, and Ottoman Empire. In fact, over 1,000 elephants were a part of this construction.

How Much Will It Cost To Build The Mausoleum Complex Now?

It is definitely quite fascinating to know the cost of building this wonderful architecture today. The construction started in around 1631 AD and took decades to come into existence efficiently. Shah Jahan invested almost 32 million during that time to build the mausoleum complex for his wife, in memory of his wife.
