Hyderabad Has Flood-Like Situation, Water-logging Disrupts Lives, Vehicles Swept Away

A heavy downpour ravaged Hyderabad on Wednesday night, washing away two-wheelers, cars and other vehicles. The rainfall severely flooded portions of the city, upsetting people’s regular life. Due to the rains, residents of Borabanda had to stay indoors and shut down their shops before closing time.

Other parts of Telangana like Panjagutta, Yousufguda, Kukatpally and Begumpet were also adversely affected by the rains.

Water Rushed Into The Houses Of People After Heavy Rainfall In Hyderabad

As per reports, a person with a bike was almost swept away in the Borabanda flood. The locals eventually rescued him. The rainwater even rushed into the ground floors of low-lying homes, devouring rugs, pieces of furniture and other valuables. Telangana has been receiving incessant rainfall for the past few days. The state’s weather department had issued a yellow alert, indicating that the capital city will experience moderate showers and thunderstorms.

City People Shared Videos Of The Flood-Like Situation

Taking to their social media platforms, the city people shared videos and pictures of the flood situation. Journalist Siraj Noorani shared a video from the Borabanda and Yousufguda area showing flooded streets and submerged cars. Another user shared a video of the bike being swept away after the rider failed to balance it on the water-logged road.  Here are some of the videos from yesterday’s rains:

Heavy Rainfall Lashed Other Parts Of India Too

Not only Hyderabad, heavy rainfall lashed other parts of India too including Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh. The rains compelled schools to shut down in several parts of Uttar Pradesh. Some other places experienced moderate rainfall. The rains brought down the average temperature in many places.
