Yohan Poonawalla Shows His Incredible Car Collection

The latest episode of Stories From Bharat started on an amazing note as Yohan and Michelle specially sent a helicopter for our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, to travel from Mumbai to Pune. For the uninitiated, Yohan Poonawalla, Chairman of the Poonawalla Engineering Group, is world-renowned for his amazing car collection, especially his Rolls-Royce collection. You would be surprised to know that he owns around 100 cars.

In between conversations and while showing his car collection, Yohan revealed that he grew up around some of the best cars in the family, which is why his love for cars dates back to childhood. One of his cars even carries the registration number ‘HMQ 001’, which stands for ‘Her Majesty Queen 1’, as Queen Elizabeth II used the car for several years. How cool is that!

Heritage Crockery & A Unique Collection Of Bottles

Kamiya asked Yohan how he convinced the previous owners that he could be the right owner for such a special car. Yohan explained that many royal families sell their cars to buy new ones, not realising that their older cars become valuable and special to collectors like him. 

Yohan and Michelle also took Kamiya around their home, which has a luxurious and palatial feel. There is even a special collection featuring limited-edition bottles. Michelle revealed that Yohan likes collecting bottles of alcohol, even though they do not drink them. She also showed us Yohan’s big cigar collection and the beautiful heritage crockery.
