Metro services have been a game-changer in India. Thanks to these metro services, our commute time has been cut down from hours to just a few minutes, and that too comfortably. Now, Thane residents will soon get to enjoy this convenience. The first phase of Thane Metro Line 4 is almost ready and is expected to launch this year itself, and we can’t wait to share the deets with you!

When Will Thane Metro Line 4 Start?

The first phase of Thane Metro Line 4 will connect Gaimukh, Cadbury Junction and Kasarvadavali. According to Times Now, as per Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik, metro services on this route are expected to start in December 2026. Once operational, the route is expected to ease daily traffic congestion on Ghodbunder Road.

The metro plan is bigger! Metro Line 4 and its extension, Line 4A, will cover 35.20 km and have 32 stations. We’re super excited to see how this network will make travel between Mumbai, Thane and the eastern and western suburbs easier. According to Pratap Sarnaik, the metro project will also make daily travel more convenient for Thane residents and support the city’s growing transport needs.

Nangal Bandar Chowpatty is also being developed as a tourist spot. These projects aim to give residents better places to relax and enjoy while attracting more tourists. These projects are being carried out with the support of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who is also the Chairman of MMRDA.
