It is time to put numbers on the growth of this industry, especially after the country has healed from the loss and limitations brought by the pandemic.

As per the statistics shared by Weddingz —the biggest marketplace for all things weddings in India —on January 17, 2023, the final month of 2022 witnessed a rise in the number of wedding venue searches by a big 39%, compared to September 2022.

Business head of Weddingz.in, Aditya Sharma established this change as an indicator of a shift in the industry. The previously traditional market has now been revolutionised, focusing on what the customer wants. Making weddings much easier to plan and granting access to all, the process of having a great wedding has become seamless.

The number of banquet listings on Weddingz.in’s website recently surpassed the historic threshold of 35,000 as the sector returns to normal. According to the company, there are now 45% more venues listed on the platform since 2019.

The $50 billion Indian wedding market was just about to undergo a transformation when the pandemic struck. An investigation conducted recently by Weddingz.in found that the pandemic has greatly accelerated “digitalisation” and the growth of online wedding platforms. Online platforms for weddings are becoming more well-known and popular. According to the survey, over 63% of millennials prefer to plan their weddings using online resources.

With these rising numbers, it is safe to say we would all be attending quite a few weddings in 2023.
