India’s Gautam Adani Overtakes Louis Vuitton Chief To Become World’s Third Richest Man

The chairman of business conglomerate Adani Group, Gautam Adani is presently the third richest person in the world as per the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Interestingly, he is also the first Asian who acquired a position in the top 3 of the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. The billionaire is just behind the world-renowned businessmen Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos as the richest and second richest globally with $247 billion and $152 billion respectively.

The 60-year-old Indian billionaire industrialist acquired the third richest position with a total net worth of $143 billion. On his way to the top 3 rankings, Gautam Adani also surpassed Bernard Jean Étienne Arnault. Bernard Jean Étienne Arnault is the co-founder, chairman, and chief executive of the luxury goods company, LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

With a worth of $94.0 billion, Reliance chief Mukesh Ambani made it to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index as well. He is now at number 9. In fact, he is the second Indian on this list after Gautam Adani.

The Indian Billionaire Overtook Bill Gates!

It was only sometime back in the past month when Gautam Adani reached the fourth position to become the fourth-richest person in the world. With a net worth of $113 billion, he surpassed the co-founder of the Microsoft Corporation, Bill Gates by a margin of $230 million. Gautam Adani also surpassed Mukesh Ambani to become Asia’s richest person in February this year. It is August 2022 and he already made $60.9 billion in the 8 months of this year. Surprisingly, this amount is 5 times more than anyone made in this time.

The Adani Group is the third largest Indian conglomerate following Reliance Industries and the Tata Group. The group constitutes businesses in various sectors such as ports and logistics, airports, energy, defence and aerospace, mining and resources, and gas. The companies falling under the Adani group are Adani Enterprises, Adani Green Energy, Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone, Adani Power, Adani Transmission, and Adani Total Gas. In all these business sectors, the company has made a significant representation.
