Indo-Nepal Bus Starts Journey from Siliguri After Two Years Of COVID Delay

Travellers from Siliguri can easily reach Nepal’s Kathmandu as Indo-Nepal bus services commence after two years of the pandemic. A private bus operator collaborated with the North Bengal State Transport Corporation (NBSTC) to initiate the Siliguri-Kakkarivitta-Kathmandu bus services on Wednesday. The bus services were inaugurated by the state’s transport minister Firhad Hakim. The bus will run regularly for passengers at ₹1500 per person. Hakim told ANI that soon bus services will begin from Siliguri to Bangladesh.

Indo Nepal Bus Services To Run Regularly, Affordable Fares

Speaking with ANI, Hakim said that West Bengal tourism and Nepal tourism will see a boost as the bus services will run regularly from the cities. The bus will initiate from the Tenzing Norgay bus terminal at 2 pm, and reach Kathmandu the next day at 6 am. The bus will cover a distance of 615 km daily. The passengers believe the fares are affordable too. The bus operator believes that the Indo Nepal bus services will also make travelling convenient for passengers who wish to be in Nepal for medical and religious reasons.

Overall, the Indo-Nepal bus service after being delayed for two years will benefit passengers in multiple ways.

Indo-Bangla Bus Services To Run Soon

Hakim, the state transport minister also informed that the authorities are awaiting the NOC from Bangladesh authorities. Following the clearance, bus services from Siliguri to Bangladesh’s Dhaka will initiate soon. This will also boost the relationship between Bangladesh and Nepal.
