Indore Establishes Flight Connectivity With 24 Cities Including Dubai And Sharjah

Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia informed that the maiden flight from Indore to Sharjah flew on Friday. He said that Indore will now be connected to about 24 cities. Out of these 24 cities, 22 are domestic, with two international cities, Sharjah and Dubai. Jyotiraditya Scindia also thanked the two airlines, AirAsia and Air India Express, for being instrumental in connecting these cities. 

Indore Is Now Connected To Sharjah 

According to Jyotiraditya Scindia, the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas was where the demand for connectivity between Indore and Sharjah was voiced. It is the same place where the announcement was made. 

Connectivity between Indore and Sharjah has been established three times in a week. It will be operating on Monday, Friday, and Saturday. A direct flight from Indore to Dubai is already operating. The frequency of this flight is once a week. The flights from Indore to Sharjah and from India to Dubai will be operated by Air India Express. 

According to the schedule, Indore-Sharjah flight IX-255 will leave from Indore at 10:30am (IST) and land in Sharjah at 12:10 in Sharjah standard time. Talking about the return journey, the Sharjah-Indore flight will leave Sharjah at 3:00 am and reach Indore at 7:35am (IST).

Minister Virtually Green Signalled The Maiden Flight

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan and Union civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia virtually were a part of the inauguration ceremony. While the civil aviation minister was in New Delhi, Shivraj Singh was in Bhopal during the inauguration. 

The maiden flight from Indore took off from the Devi Ahilyabai Holkar Airport. The two ministers showed a green flag to the flight to take off to Sharjah on Friday virtually. (As per Free Press Journal)

Local officials, including MP Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava, and Minister Tulsiram Silawat, were also invited to attend the inauguration event.

All the passengers boarding this flight were advised to arrive at the destination two hours prior to the given time of departure. Passengers must go through the immigration and customs desk.
