Necessity is the mother of invention. And now would be an appropriate time to call it a necessity to inculcate and spread the ideas of cleanliness and hygiene. So, recently, Anand Mahindra, chairman of Mahindra Group shared a video of a Mumbai autorickshaw. The auto comes with a built-in hand washing system and also dustbins to dispose off both dry and wet waste. This ‘jugaad’ hand wash unit caught the eyes of netizens. Mumbaikars are hailing it as the need of the hour. There’s also an auto in the city that provides LCD television and WiFi!

Anand Mahindra Tweets About Mumbai Auto Has Built-In Hand Wash Unit

Sanitisation is the new moto amid the coronavirus pandemic. One such creative way to ensure sanitisation during such crucial times won the heart of industrialist Anand Mahindra. He shared a video of a Mumbai auto-rickshaw that comes with a built-in hand washing system. In 2019, over 900 Mumbai auto drivers lost their licenses for refusing rides.

He captioned it as “One silver lining of Covid-19 is that it’s dramatically accelerating the creation of a Swachh Bharat,” the chairman of Mahindra Group tweeted as he shared video of a three-wheeler in Mumbai that has received such modifications in order to provide a ‘swachh’ or clean experience to its passengers. It is called ‘Mumbai’s First Home System Auto’.

This video which spans over a minute shows the particular auto with a built-in handwashing unit. The three-wheeler also has potted plants and two separate bins for dry and wet waste. There’s also a liquid hand wash soap dispenser and hand sanitiser. Well, what can we say its the perfect way for passengers to travel and keep themselves sanitised.

Auto-Rickshaw Driver Satyawan Gite Provides These Facilities So Customers Can Have A Comfortable Ride

Earlier, ANI Mumbai reported that auto-rickshaw driver, Satyawan Gite has equipped his auto with facilities ranging from washbasin, mobile phone charging points, plants to a desktop monitor. He did this to provide comfortable rides to passengers. Speaking to ANI, Satyawan stated, “In my auto-rickshaw, riders can enjoy all the facilities that they have in their homes. Customers riding in my auto-rickshaw can charge their phones. It also has purified drinking water and there is a washbasin.” He further said, “I also don’t charge senior citizens for rides up to one kilometre. I want to provide the best facilities for passengers travelling in my auto-rickshaw.”

And not just Anand Mahindra but even author Twinkle Khanna shared the picture on her Instagram. She captioned it “Equipped with a window garden, washbasin and a desktop monitor, this genius Mumbai rickshaw belongs in the jugaad Hall Of Fame.”

Mumbaikars are thrilled that Satyawan Gite has included several facilities in his vehicle and converted it into the ‘first home system’ auto-rickshaw. Amid this coronavirus pandemic, this autorickshaw with built-in handwash unit is definitely the need of the hour.
