People of Kochi have waited quite long for this development and now they can enjoy a ride on this metro rail network. The first train on this route commenced from Aluva at 10 AM where specially-abled kids were given a joy ride. Following this metro ride, the commercial operations started, according to a report by The New Indian Express. The concerned authorities organised proper test runs at this metro terminal about 2 months ago.
To travel between Aluva and Thripunithura, each ticket will cost ₹75. Kochi Metro has approved the fare of ₹75 . However, today is a special day because of the inauguration and the fare is ₹60 until any notice is issued. The journey between Aluva and Thripunithura is a total distance of 28.125 km and has 25 metro stops.
Commuters have been waiting for the day to start smooth operations connecting this terminal. Now the journeys are expected to be more convenient for passengers, especially for daily commuters who can catch metros every day and ditch the traffic on the road. An amazing part is that there is a proper connection between Thripunithura terminal and Thripunithura railway station making it easy for people to leave the railway train and catch the metro.
