The nightingale of India, Lata Mangeshkar succumbed to multi-organ failure on February 6, 2022, after over 28 days of hospitalisation owing to COVID-19 complications. While her body went the way of all flesh, Lata Ji remains immortal in our hearts with her countless mellifluous songs. In 1987, she had received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, which is the highest award in the field of Indian cinema. In 2001, she had received India’s highest civilian honour, the Bharat Ratna. Lata Ji had started her singing career in 1942, at the age of 13. For around 77 years, she has gifted the film industry with the most beautiful songs that will inspire future generations as well in the world of music.

Lata Ji Would Travel On Foot From Tardeo To Dadar To Practise Music
Remembering Lata Ji, personalities from the entertainment industry have revealed several interesting facts from her life. In her Instagram post, actor and poet Tuhinaa Vohra unveiled that apart from being a singer, Lata Ji was a ‘keen photographer’ and loved cricket too. She said that her grandfather, composer Anil Biswas was the mentor of Lata Ji. The legendary singer would travel all the way from Tardeo to Dadar to Biswas’s house to practise music. As she loved non-vegetarian food, Biswas would cook it for her. They both used to relish the food while practising music.

Lata Ji Was An Wildlife Enthusiast, Reveals Sharmila Tagore
According to The Quint report, actress Sharmila Tagore has also spoken about Lata Ji’s love for photography. Tagore added that Lata Ji had some of the best cameras and she was a wildlife enthusiast too. She said that the legendary singer loved cricket too and that interest had brought them together. Tagore also added that she believes that Lata Ji was fond of cars as well.
