1. Reel Cinemas
Reel cinemas in collaboration with Rove hotel, bring alive the concept of dine-in-cineams. The boutique cinema only has one screen decked with 46 seats, splashed in a palette of colors. Pay up a small fee of AED 70 and you get a tub of popcorn, soft drinks in fancy flavors like wasabi, cream and strawberry. That’s not all! You can also order alcohol- AED 35 spirits, AED 40 for beers and wines and AED 175 for a full bottle (if you want to take some home, perhaps). The food menu is appetizing enough too- mini burgers, nachos and potato skins- they have it all. The theatre screens international and regional movies. And what we love most is that your food is brought to your seat when its ready, so no waiting in long queues or missing parts of the movie.

Vox Cinemas in partnership with Michelin starred chef Gary Rhodes, offers movie goers a fine-dining experience while enjoying your favorite blockbusters. You read it right! The first theatre, offering a 270 degree movie experience, Screen X is now open at Reel Cinemas in the Dubai Mall. The theatre is small and the screen extends into three walls of the hall, making viewers part of an immersive cinema concept. The seats are nothing fancy. They have 2 categories- X and XPlus, with the latter offering more leg room and docked in the last rows. We wouldn’t recommend you watch a romcom here. Reserve this for action and adventure and you are sure to have a ball of a time.
4. La Playa Lounge Outdoor Cinema
Dubai’s outdoor cinema scene is popular, especially during the winter months. La Playa has the biggest outdoor screen in Dubai (20m x 10m high-definition). There are plush white sofas which double up as seats and beds (for the more relaxed). So, you can chill with shisha, a tub of popcorn, or nachos. Headsets are provided for movie lovers and the staff are happy to give you a blanket if the temperature dips. The cinema also plays national and international football matches for sports fans. Though this is not the place for diehard movie fans, it is an ideal spot for a family outing.
