Malad Girl Moves To Goa & Launches Restaurant With Mumbai’s Authentic East Indian Cuisine

The lockdown in 2020 began quite optimistically with much social media chatter and several posts about Dalgona coffee and focaccia artwork. But as the weeks turned into months, people started turning to simple food to find comfort, borrowing kitchen practices from their mothers and grandmothers. However, now, due to the lockdown-like curbs in Maharashtra, many have temporarily moved to Goa. If you are missing your home meals, we have a place in mind for you that serves authentic East Indian food from Mumbai. A Malad girl, Keziah Correia living in Goa has launched an East Indian eatery called Fugiyas Cafe & Bar that offers sorpotel, vindaloo, and balchao like a pucca local.

The Perfect Address For Mumbai’s East Indian Cuisine

If you have been missing East Indian food, this cafe is the perfect address to try the food of Mumbai’s indigenous community. Keziah and her mother brainstormed the menu and all the dishes on the menu are heritage recipes from the Correia and Ferreira kitchens passed down from generations.

Relish Sorpotel, Fugiyas And More

The most exciting of them all is the East Indian breakfast of sorpotel with fugiyas. They also have a special pork tray with pork curry, kadak pav, egg omelette, and pork roast. At Fugiyas, there are plenty of options for vegetarians too. Vegetarians can try the khudi curry, an East Indian gravy made with bottle masala, served with paneer burjee, kadak pav and cutlet, and fugiyas.
