Man Creates A Guinness World Record By Covering Delhi Metro Stations!

Following his completion of 286 Delhi Metro stations in the span of 15 hours, 22 minutes, and 49 seconds, a man’s name was added to the Guinness World Records. The task was accomplished in April 2021 by a man by the name of Shashank Manu. He is a freelance researcher who enjoys taking the Delhi Metro. On the blue line, he began his attempt at 5 am, and at the Brigadier Hoshiar Singh station, which is on the green line, he finished it at 8:30 pm.

Due to a miscommunication that caused the record to be given to another individual called Prafull Singh. He obtained his Guinness World Records certificate in April 2023. However, Prafull Singh took longer than Shashank Manu to complete the voyage in August 2021, finishing in 16 hours and 2 minutes. He finished the voyage in 15 hours, 22 minutes, and 49 seconds in April of that year.

The idea to cover every metro station in the capital city came to him during the coronavirus pandemic. He tried it after metro services restarted following the initial lockout, according to a report in The Indian Express. His journey included taking pictures at each metro station, getting people to sign a receipt, and having “independent witnesses” by his side the entire time.

Additionally, he captured an uncut video of the entire effort and kept track of the opening and closing times of the train carriage doors at each station in order to verify the record. Further, he made use of a day-long tourist pass, which provides unlimited rides.
