Jeddah is about to get its first Disguise Run, and the dress code is whatever costume you can pull off. Saudi Sports Events is hosting the run on Thursday, November 12, at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, and the whole night is built around turning up in character.

Three Races, Three Prizes

There are three categories to pick from:

  • General 5km run: SAR149 (for runners over 13)
  • Family 2km run: SAR119 (no age limit)
  • Kids’ 2km run: SAR89 (up to age 12)

Race-Day Timings

The 5km race starts at 7.10pm. The family and kids’ runs both start at 7.25pm. All three are evening starts, with the longer race going off first, followed by the two shorter runs together.

What You Get When You Register

Every registration comes with a bib number, a race kit that includes a T-shirt and a few goodies, a finisher certificate and a finisher medal once you cross the line.

More Than A Race

The night isn’t only about the finish line. MDLBEAST will play a live DJ set, and there will be games and challenges for adults, kids’ activities, face-painting and a fantasy party experience.

The Venue

The Jeddah Corniche Circuit is the Red Sea street circuit that hosts Formula 1’s Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, so the run gives you the chance to cover the same stretch of waterfront on foot, and in fancy dress.

Who It Suits

The format works for different groups. Friends can take on the 5km together, families can pick the 2km family run, which has no age limit, and younger children get a race of their own.

About The Costumes

Organisers say you can wear any costume you like, within reason. A little common sense helps here: pick something you can actually run in, skip anything that could trip you up, and remember the 5km is a proper run, even if you’re dressed as a dinosaur.

A String Of Firsts

Saudi Arabia has collected some unusual running events this year, from the first RunGP to a five-kilometre indoor run through KAFD. The Disguise Run slots into that list as the most playful one yet.

How To Book

Tickets start from SAR89 and are available through the Saudi Sports Events website at sse.com.sa. Choose your category, sort out your costume and get your bib before November 12. With the first race at 7.10pm, plan to arrive early enough to settle in and enjoy the entertainment before your start time.
