According to an article which was recently published by the Hindustan Times or HT, passengers will be able to carry globally approved extra-large suitcases on the Aqua line. This is because the stations on this line will get extra large X-ray suitcase scanners.

The globally approved dimensions of such suitcases are 32x21x12 and the maximum each of them can weigh is up to 23 kilogrammes. In addition to these baggage scanners, the Metro 3 stations near Terminals 1 and 2 will also be equipped with trolleys.

This will help the passengers lug their heavy baggage to the airport with ease and convenience. These measures will make travelling to and from the airport quite easy and cheaper for passengers.

It is important to note, however, that other metro lines connecting to Line 3 will not be getting similarly sized X-ray machines. The scanners on these lines are smaller than the ones on Line 3. Hence, if passengers need to get on a connecting line, they may face certain issues.

The security will be required to open the suitcase and manually scan the luggage using metal detectors. If reports are to go by, as of now, there are no plans to introduce scanners on other lines that accommodate such large suitcases.
