Mumbai Shopping Malls Make COVID Negative Test Report Mandatory For Entry Amid Rising Cases

In view of the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra, the government was forced to impose lockdowns and night curfews. But despite the preventive measures, the graph is only moving upwards. Maharashtra had already mandated COVID negative test reports for people traveling from other states and now Mumbai has made negative Covid-19 test reports mandatory to enter shopping malls.

Rapid Antigen Test Facility Compulsory For All Malls

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation announced that it will make the Rapid Antigen Test facility for Covid-19 testing compulsory for all malls in the city. The new rule will come into effect from 22 March, so if you have some urgent shopping to do, you might as well do it right now! Maharashtra Reports 23,000 COVID Cases In 24 Hours; Highest Daily Spike This Year.

You Can Do An Antigen Test At The Entry Of The Mall

So what happens if you do not carry a COVID negative test report? You can still enter the mall provided you take the Rapid Antigen Test done at the entrance of the shopping mall. There will be a designated team for the tests at malls. Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had earlier appealed to the citizens to religiously follow the COVID-19 guidelines to contain the spread of the disease. Maharashtra Government Introduces New COVID Guidelines For Malls & Cinema; Offices To Operate With 50% Attendance.
