In Uttarakhand, the Mussoorie Municipal Corporation (MNC) will develop the Mussoorie Landour Market as a heritage market. According to reports, the Landour market was founded in the early 19th century and will now be converted into a heritage market. In the first phase, a total of ₹100 crores has been allocated for the project for all the shops near the Landour market.

The Landour market was established at the time of British rule. It is one of the most famous shopping bazaars in Mussoorie. The market features many well-known landmarks like Mullingar Estate, Chaar Dukaan, etc.

While conversing with Times Travel, the MMC chairman Anuj Gupta revealed that this is one of the first markets in Mussoorie. And some of the measures taken in this regard are improving facades, proper lighting, and road paving. Well, all this is done with the aim to promote tourism in Mussoorie and also to increase the customer numbers in the Landour market.

Because of the ancient influence, this market in Mussoorie will be now converted into a heritage market.

Recently, A Spacious Parking Lot Was Also Opened In The Market

Also recently, the Landour market opened a parking lot that can accommodate 60 four-wheelers and 500 two-wheelers. To ease the traffic congestion in the town, the Mussoorie government aims to construct more such wide and spacious traffic lots.

The Landour residents said that an expanded heritage market would help grow tourism in the city. Meanwhile, Landour will bring tourists to the area and benefit local businesses.
