Pankaj Tripathi: I Like To Travel To Places With Less Tourists

For this delightful episode of Tere Gully Mein, our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, met Pankaj Tripathi in Panaji, Goa. Kamiya knew Pankaj visited Goa for work and didn’t get a chance to explore this place as a tourist. So she took it upon herself and made him try feni, good Goan food and more. Go and watch the video; before that learn about his favourite travel places in India.

Prefers To Travel To Lesser-Known Places

Exploring Panaji with Pankaj Tripathi was like a dream come true for Curly Tales. Kamiya always wanted to do so and here, we were in the vibrant and lovely lanes of Fontainhas! We wanted to learn more about his life and played a fun game of ‘Never Have I Ever’.

While playing he told us that he likes to travel to places with fewer tourists. He is forever ready to explore quaint places in the northeastern states of India, West Bengal or the northern hills. It is because there is a sense of tranquillity while exploring the unexplored spots with no overcrowding.

As a popular actor, Pankaj feels the satisfaction that comes with people not recognising him on the streets when he isn’t working. However, some subtle recognition from eagle-eyed fans intrigues him and he says, “Meri ruchi badh jaati hai ki apne kya dekha hai mera”.

He enquires about how they know him because those destinations are far away from city life and Bollywood. We just know he feels proud of the work he does.

Further, Pankaj shared how he visited his hometown for around 10 days and ended up being recognised. He recalled how two boys stood out from the rest of the crowd. People came up to him for photographs, signatures or just to have a word with him. When the two boys met him, he could sense that they wouldn’t be interested in the content or character he portrayed on-screen.

So, he asked them about which of his works they had watched. What they replied to him next left us hysterically laughing! Pankaj said the boys told him, “Aap reel ke beech mein aate hai aur shabash karte hai,” while doing the ‘shabash’ action! Not just this, people even show him memes because that is where they recognise him from!

Memes do have the power and responsibility to spread awareness and jokes and call out people. It perfectly caters to a larger audience in the present world and even our guest said, “Reels aur memes ki joh yeh duniya badhi hai…” Do you agree?
