Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled this statue on November 17 to mark the 151st celebrations of Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj. Made from 8 distinct metals, majorly copper, this statue is being installed at Vijay Vallabh Sadhana Kendra in Rajasthan.

Rajasthan now has a’ Statue of Peace’ of Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj. This saint is well known for working selflessly to spread the teachings of Lord Mahavira. He worked for the welfare of masses, vociferously spread education, wrote inspiring literature and supported the freedom movement actively. Thanks to his support more than 50 educational institutions including colleges and schools came up in India. To honour, Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj, PM Modi inaugurated his 151-inch tall statue to mark his 151st celebrations.

After virtually inaugurating the state, according to Hindustan Times, PM Modi stated “Vijay Nityanand Surishwer Ji Maharaj used to say that the land of Gujarat gave us two Vallabh. In the political field, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and in spiritual field Jainacharya Shree Vijay Vallabh Surishwer Ji Maharaj… Both dedicated their lives for India’s unity and brotherhood. I am fortunate that the country gave me the opportunity to inaugurate the world’s highest ‘Statue of Unity’ by Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. And today I am getting the privilege of unveiling the ‘Statue of Peace’ by Jainacharya Vijay Vallabh ji.”

PM Modi also mentioned the educational institutions established by the Jainacharya. He praised the saint’s efforts to make India Aatmanirbhar in the field of education. PM Modi said that these very institutions cultivated so many industrialists doctors, judges and engineers. They continue to serve the nation.
