Railways are undoubtedly the backbone of the nation. With millions of people travelling by this transport, there are sometimes news pieces that often show the danger of travelling in itself. Yes, recently, a Sabarmati Express train derailed during the early hours of Saturday morning, on August 17. But thankfully, no casualties were reported.

Sabarmati Express Derails Near Kanpur

As mentioned in a report by news18, 20 coaches of the Sabarmati Express passenger train had derailed near the Govindpuri station in Kanpur. This rail accident happened during the early hours of Saturday morning. The Varanasi-Ahmedabad train had derailed between Kanpur and Bhimsen railway station at around 2:35 AM. While the rescue and relief operations continue to be underway, no loss of life or injury has so far been reported in the accident. According to railway officials, the accident happened due to an object being placed on the tracks. Yes, according to them, antisocial elements or the involvement of miscreants are being looked into as a prima facie, since the engine hit some boulder, which badly damaged and bent it.

Due to the size of the boulder, a conclusion has been drawn that the engine must have collided with the object, which led to the derailment of the train coaches. Due to the derailed train, seven trains have been cancelled and three of them have been diverted. The passengers in the accident are now being arranged on different buses so that they can be carried to the Kanpur railway station. Moreover, eight coaches of MEMU train has already departed from Kanpur to carry the passengers back to the city’s railway station. At this point, it’s worth mentioning that this isn’t an isolated incident. Recently, another train accident took place near Gonda in Uttar Pradesh.

Yes, a Chandigarh-Dibrugarh Express train had detailed between Motiganj and Jhilahi Railway Stations. As a result, four people were killed and many others were injured. In fact, 19 coaches had derailed in this railway accident.
