Saudi Arabia is all set to host the 2029 Asian Winter Games in the mountains covered with snow. The kingdom will make history by becoming the first Middle Eastern country to host the winter games. The event will have games like skiing, skating, ice hockey and other winter sports. So let’s check out more about this event. 

Neom’s Planned City Trojena Will Host 2029 Asian Winter Games

 

The games will be held in Trojena, a still-under-construction Neom area in the northwestern mountain range that is being marketed as a new winter sports tourist hotspot. Soon, Saudi Arabia’s mountains and deserts will serve as a paradise for winter sports. A $500 billion megacity that is one of the cornerstones of the kingdom’s Vision 2030 development plan includes the city. Near the Jordanian border and the Red Sea, northwest of the nation is where you’ll find the Neom site.

The rugged Tabuk area, 50 kilometres inland from the shore, will be the home of Trojena. According to the official website, Trojena would have a 2,400-meter-high ski town in addition to other leisure and travel-related industries. According to Saudi Arabia, Trojena city will be ready by 2026.

Trojena looks like a diverse mountain tourist development site with six specialised areas in the official plan. The gorgeous location is high in the hilly Tabuk area of Saudi Arabia, at an altitude of 1,500 to 2,600 metres.

The Trojena website has interactive visuals that depict future structures arranged along a mountain valley with a ‘precision-engineered’ artificial lake flowing through the middle. A five-star hotel will house visitors in the high-altitude Ski Village, featuring winter activities during the day and outdoor entertainment at night. The location will also have a collection of hotels, opulent homes, and restaurants.
