The London Marathon takes place annually in April, but it was postponed to October to maximize crowd participation. This year, a Mumbai woman created a Guinness world record in the London Marathon. South Mumbai-based Kranti Salvi covered a distance of 42.2 km in 4 hours, 3 minutes, and 51 seconds. Interestingly Kranti ran in the marathon wearing a Welsh costume.

According to mid-day, Kranti wore the Welsh outfit because in 2019 in Toronto (Canada) a runner in a Welsh costume created a Guinness World record. The runner finished the marathon in 4 hours and 30 minutes. Before taking part in the marathon, Kranti researched traditional Scottish and Welsh costumes. After the research, she felt Welsh has deeper ethnicity. So, this Mumbai-based woman decided to don a Welsh costume for the marathon.
