Techies From Kerala Frequently Travel To US & Europe For Business Travel

Many employees often need to travel domestically or overseas for work purposes. These days, the concept of ‘offshoring’ is becoming quite a common thing. Interestingly, in between everything, the US and Europe are holding their spot at the top business travel locations globally from Kerala. These international business destinations are mostly covered by techies from Kerala and a survey of Thiruvananthapuram’s IT firms states the numbers.

Techies From Kerala Often Travel To The US & Europe For Business Travel

A survey was conducted for the IT firms in Thiruvananthapuram in 2019, and the results state that the US, Canada, and Latin America are the most popular international business work trip destinations for employees working in the field of technology. They flew to different places of these international business travel destinations on around 5,695 work trips. The next places on this list are the UK and Europe.

Airport Choke

V. Sreekumar is the secretary of the Group of Technologies Companies (G-Tech). He recently conducted a session at the recent summit of airlines in Thiruvananthapuram on the increase in the knowledge economy. During the session, he said that the US and Europe conduct a huge amount of international business travel by technocrats from Kerala. Australia, Japan, New Zealand, and West Asian countries are on the list too. In addition, V. Sreekumar also shared that the result of the survey on IT firms in Thiruvananthapuram is quite close to Kochi.

These Are The Places For Domestic Business Work Trips

The Domestic Business Travel Destinations showed a very interesting report. Around 50% of domestic business travel of the techies from Kerala are to Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad. The next places in line are in North India such as Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, and Uttar Pradesh. Also, states in West India such as Goa, Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan are in line. And for East India, the destinations for domestic business travel are Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal.

Talking about air travel, V. Sreekumar shared, ‘After the COVID-19 pandemic, business travel of techies nosedived. However, we are hopeful of this bouncing back to normal by the end of this year, considering the current pace of growth’, as reported by The Hindu.
