In contemporary times, while the essence of Ramlila remains deeply rooted in tradition, there have been notable changes in how these theatrical shows are organised and presented. One significant change is the integration of technology into Ramlila’s performances. Organisations like Shriram Bhartiya Kala Kendra Theatre Lawns have started translating the narrative into English and projecting it on large screens. This innovation allows visitors from other countries to understand and enjoy the performance, expanding the reach of this ancient tradition.

Some locations, such as Lal Qila Maidan and Red Fort Lawns, have incorporated elements of Bollywood and entertainment into their Ramlila presentations. This modernization caters to a diverse audience, attracting those who appreciate a blend of traditional storytelling and contemporary flair.

This change has transformed Ramlila from a singular performance into a more comprehensive cultural and entertainment event.

Despite modernizations and adaptations, devotion and reverence for the story of Lord Rama remain at the core of Ramlila. Eminent personalities still visit traditional locations like Subhash Maidan to attend Ramlila and witness the symbolic burning of the effigy of Ravan during Dussehra.
