Goa is one of the busiest tourist destinations in India. Finding tranquil and nature-friendly locations can be a task. But there is a 76-year-old Goan family home that is untouched by all the changes in Goa. Known as Casa Galgibaga, it is a slice of the old world near Galgibaga beach. Its beauty is still intact as it was years back. Come, let’s know more about this quintessential property.
Away from the tourist crowds and streets lined with pubs and bars, Galgibaga beach in South Goa is one of the cleanest and most peaceful beaches in the state.
Casa Galgibaga Lies Between The Sea, Two Rivers And A Hillock
Nestled in a peaceful fishing village between the sea, two rivers and a hillock, lies the gorgeous Casa Galgibaga. This is the perfect place to revive your tired spirit while quenching your thirst for adventure. The tall trees, the clear mornings, the magical sunsets, the picturesque alleys and the sound of waves crashing in the background will take your breath away.
The current owner of Casa Galgibaga is Mavrik Cardoz. His grandfather had originally built the Main House. Today, the property has a family home, two stone chambers, two beach huts and tents, all open to guests.
The Main House has two bedrooms, each with brightly coloured mosaic-tiled bathrooms. The Beach Tents are ideal for backpackers as they are closest to the beach. The Stone Rooms are designed with local stone, while the Beach Rooms are designed in Indo-Portuguese style with private seating. All basic amenities are provided here.
Enjoy Authentic Goan Meals At The Resort
As a guest of Casa, you can cook your own meals in their well-equipped kitchen. Or you can also enjoy delicious home-cooked Goan dishes prepared and delivered by two ladies in the neighbourhood. Also, Casa is close to many quaint restaurants and cafes.
After resting for a while, if you want to involve yourself in any fun activities nearby, you can go hiking or take boat rides on the nearby Galgibaga and Talpona rivers.
