Isn’t it amazing when you can enjoy a luxurious stay and also experience the thrill of adventurous activities at the same time? ‘The Alampara’ near Chennai is a luxury boutique resort where you can try out various water sports activities like windsurfing lessons and kayaking, and also spend a memorable time with your loved ones amidst nature. This place looks like a picture and is surely worth experiencing at least once.

The Story Behind The Alampara

Nestled in Madurantakam, The Alampara has so many stories behind it. Arun Vasu, the chief managing director of the TT Group, was on a mission to find an unexplored place where he could start windsurfing lessons and camping. Alamparai was just an unused surrounding surrounded by paddy fields. It faced a tsunami and survived it. Also, it pulled through almost 250 years of decay. And today the 50-acre land is a beautiful resort that is serving the visitors in the best possible way. The Alampara Resort is just a boat ride away from Alamparai in Madurantakam.

The ‘Enchanting’ Alampara

The Alampara has everything inside the resort; you ask it and you get it. About 1-hour ride away from Puducherry, this place is fulfilling the excitement of every water enthusiast for some time. The owners Arun Vasu and Mrinal Vasu searched for a perfect location for both water activities and also a comfortable getaway for quite some time and ultimately the result is The Alampara.

The property has magnificent and royal tents with each and every amenities that you might need for a comfortable stay. Every room is designed differently yet sparks similar beauty and comfort in every corner. The interior has been designed delicately using some natural elements to add a rustic charm to the resort. The real charm of this place is actually outside these lavish rooms. No matter if you are an amateur or experienced, anyone can try out water sports with the guidance of experienced people. The surfing and stand-up paddle national champion Sekar Patchai looks after the visitors and helps them to explore the activities during his leisure time. Sports you can explore here are:

  • Waterskiing
  • Windsurfing
  • Wakeboarding
  • Kneeboarding
  • Stand-up paddle
  • Kayaking

Even if you will try doing any of these for the first time, the backwaters are just the perfect for that. The place comes with various packages for the guests. If anyone wishes to visit only for a day and explore the activities and spend some quality time, the resort offers packages for that as well.

The Private Sandbar

Alampara has surprising elements for you at every step. Just a boat ride away from the property, there stands an 8-acre long private sandbar. There are plans of settling a rehabilitation centre for turtles and birds on this sandbar. In fact, it is quite close to the Kazhuveli Bird Sanctuary. If you are visiting this resort with some time in your hand, make sure to take a stroll around this sanctuary. You will be stunned to see flamingos, pelicans, and many other migratory birds there.

A Paradise For Foodies

We have seen enough of natural beauty and windsurfing lessons. Now let’s dig into the in-house menu for the guests. Chef Saranana Kumar’s seafood cuisine is the most popular here. Andhra chapala pulusu curry with rawas with rice smells divine and tastes heavenly. Another chef’s signature dish is Spaghetti bolognese. And of course, a trip to South India never finishes without a cup of filter coffee! Likewise, the filter coffee here is very famous and tastes good too.

There is simply no better way to end your day than stargazing surrounded by a blanket of blue sky and greenery. You don’t need any music as the sound of the birds, flowing water, and leaves flapping in the air seems like the calmest way to unwind after a tiring yet happy day of adventures.
