The Taj Mahal is the glory and pride of India. Hundreds and thousands of visitors from India and overseas countries visit to witness one of the world’s seven wonders every day. This ivory-white marble mausoleum is explored by infinite tourists every day to see the alluring beauty and charisma this place holds. This has always been one of India’s many iconic places to explore and is surely on everyone’s bucket list. When in Agra, travelling to the Taj Mahal is a must. But you might need to put your plan to visit here on pause as this monument will be staying closed for some time.

When & Why The Doors To The Taj Mahal Will Remain Shut?

Taj Mahal will keep its doors closed to tourists on 12 February 2023. Visitors will not be allowed to enter and explore the premises for 4 hours on this day. Agra will be welcoming guests for the upcoming G20 conference and this is the reason to keep the doors of the mausoleum closed for a few hours. During these 4 hours, only guests of the G20 conference will be allowed to enter the Taj Mahal.

Also, only the G20 delegates and guests will be able to enter other important buildings and monuments such as the Red Fort during that time on 12 February. If you are planning a trip to visit this marble mausoleum on 12 February, it is better to note the timings properly, else you might need to simply waste these 4 hours standing and waiting somewhere else.

When Is This G20 Conference Taking Place?

Agra is hosting the meeting on 11 February and 12 February. The guests will explore the iconic places of Agra on 12 February. The date of the conference has been announced yet. There is no official announcement made on the timing of closing the doors of the Taj Mahal.
