Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami officially inaugurates the ropeway service that connects Kaddukhal with the famed Surkanda Devi shrine in Uttarakhand Tehri district. The program was officially started on Sunday by the state’s Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami. Following the commencement of the ropeway service, the BJP leader visited the Siddhpeeth Maa Surkanda Devi Temple and offer prayers to the goddess. 

Inauguration Of Surkanda Devi Temple Ropeway Service 

The opening of the Surkanda Devi Temple Ropeway Service gives relief to devotees and visitors alike, as they will no longer be required to trek for around 2 hours to get darshan of Maa Surkanda Devi. The ropeway service will now transport people to the shrine in record time. The ropeway service benefits the state’s tourist industry since it will create additional employment.  As part of the Parvatmala concept, the state government is moving through with plans to build ropeways in many districts. The Tehri area has a 42-square-mile lake that will use for various water activities.

Highlights Of Ropeway Service 

  • The ropeway is 502 metres in length and can transport up to 500 passengers each hour.
  • The ropeway ride will take between 5 and 10 minutes, depending on the number of people on it.
  • It is the first significant ropeway project to be initiated by the state of Uttarakhand since the state got established as a distinct entity in 2000.
  • The project will finish for around Rs 5 crores in total cost.
