Travelling by air doesn’t always mean that you simply board an aircraft and reach your destination in a few hours. Though it is the fastest mode of transport, it comes with its own challenges. Flights can get delayed or cancelled due to technical issues and other reasons. Now, a video is going viral in which a passenger reveals how SpiceJet cancelled a flight and informed them only after they had boarded the aircraft. Scroll down to know what happened!

Passengers Claim SpiceJet Mumbai Flight Cancelled After Boarding

Actress Vijay Lakshmi Mallya (@vijaylakshmimallya3) took to social media to share her recent experience with SpiceJet. Flight SG 553 was travelling from Gorakhpur to Mumbai on November 1, 2026, and was scheduled to depart at 5:55 PM. After multiple delays, passengers finally boarded the flight and were briefed about the safety procedures. However, even after boarding, the aircraft did not take off.

According to the actress, the pilot and other crew members kept the passengers waiting for a long time before announcing that the flight had been cancelled. She claimed that the crew then asked passengers to leave the aircraft and walked away. The reason given was that they could not operate the flight due to an 8 PM restriction.

Sharing the video, the actress said that she is from Gorakhpur and has travelled by flight multiple times. She also questioned the 8 PM restriction. In the video, we can see passengers arguing, children crying, and people expressing their frustration. Another video shows passengers sitting under the aircraft.

Vijay Lakshmi compared the service to that of a bus and said that even a bus is not as irresponsible as SpiceJet. She also claimed that no SpiceJet authorities came forward to provide clear answers to the passengers.
