A United Airlines plane, carrying 104 passengers, caught fire during takeoff on Sunday. The flight was travelling from Houston to New York when one of its wings burst into flames. All passengers were safely evacuated. The Federal Aviation Authority (FAA) has launched a probe to find out more about this incident.
United Airlines Plane Catches Fire On Runway During Takeoff
A United Airlines flight from Houston to New York had to be evacuated after it caught fire during takeoff, according to the FAA.

According to The Times of India, United Airlines Flight 1382 from Houston to New York reported an “engine issue” while preparing for takeoff at 8:30 AM on Sunday. The flight aborted its takeoff from the George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston, Texas immediately.
A video captured by one of the passengers on board shows how one of the flight’s wings caught fire during takeoff. The incident spread panic among the passengers. Many of them were seen screaming and asking the flight crew to stop the flight and get the people out of the plane. The Houston Fire Department (HFD) confirmed the incident and reassured that no one was injured in the incident.
All Passengers Safely Evacuated
The United Airlines flight was carrying 104 passengers and five crew members. The passengers were immediately taken out of the plane using stairs and the emergency slide. Videos online show many passengers standing on the tarmac as well after evacuation. They were carried to the terminal by a bus. Later, they were rescheduled to depart for New York at 12:30 PM, on a replacement aircraft.

This incident comes just a few days after an American Airlines plane collided with a US Army Black Hawk helicopter near Reagan National Airport and another plane crashed near a mall in Philadelphia on Friday. We hope that the concerned authorities are able to find the cause of this incident soon to avoid such scares in the future.
