Water Supply To Be Cut Off In Parts Of Mumbai On July 9 & 10

We all know what a terribly hard Monday it has been with the rain crippling the city like nothing else. Potholes deep enough to swallow 2-wheelers, thigh-high water logging, relentless rain rendering even the strongest of raincoats, umbrellas and rain boots completely useless, there just seems to be no end to the troubles that monsoon brings to Mumbai every year. And to make to worse, parts of Mumbai will not have any water supply on July 9 & 10.

Where And Why?
The areas that will not be receiving any water for the next two days i.e. 9th and 10th July are Marol, JB Nagar, Sahar Village (Andheri East), some parts of Bandra, Chakala, Dharavi and Matunga Labour Camp. If you put up in any of these locations in Mumbai or know of friends and families living here, make sure to stock up tonight as much as possible to avoid running out. Another option is to buy bottles from your nearest supermarket or ration store.

This high inconvenience comes as an after effect of the BMC (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) which will be conducting work on major water pipelines in Mahim and Powai. One pipe has to be fixed for leakages while the other needs to be replaced altogether. Authorities have requested residents to store water in advance in order to avoid shortage of water in these 2 days.

So all you people already struggling to make it to the office and back home in one piece, there is another problem cropping up for 2 days which cannot be delayed either. So we advise you store and use water responsibly as much as possible for Tuesday and Wednesday, all who are living in the above-mentioned locations. And those who aren’t, help out your friends and get them at least drinking water people. Stay safe everyone, safe and hydrated. We hope these 2 days cause as less inconvenience as possible.
