The Delhi Government has recently approved the launch of 1,500 low-floor electric buses into Delhi’s public transportation fleet. Out of these 1500 buses, 100 will begin rolling down the streets from Tuesday. The Chief Minister of Delhi is all set to flag off the batch of 100 electric buses on Tuesday. The Aam Aadmi Party-led government announced free travel on these buses.
Era Of Environment-Friendly Public Transport
The first batch of 100 low floor electric buses will be rolling down from Tuesday for the next three days. The government announced that d can travel on these buses without having to pay any amount. The first electric bus from Delhi Transport Corporation was flagged off in January by Cheif Minister Arvind Kejriwal. He had said that this was just the beginning of an era of environmentally friendly public transport and more 2000 of them will be seen in the city soon in the coming years.

Electric Buses In Delhi
The first e-bus in the Delhi Transport Corporation had kneeling ramps for differently-abled passengers, pink seats for women and zero tailpipe emissions. The bus is equipped with a CCTV, 10 panic buttons, one hooter, two-way central command and control centre. Mundela Kalan and Rohini Sector 37 are two e-bus depots to house these vehicles.
