With mandatory COVID-19 negative reports, vaccine certificate requirements, quarantine rules and more, international travel has become much more complicated than the pre-pandemic days. But if you thought that was all you needed, it is time to get yourselves updated. Along with the existing COVID-19 rules, some nations have also mandated COVID-19 related travel insurance for entry. Here is a list of 18 such countries:

Countries That Have Mandated Purchase Of Local Heath Insurances For Travel

1.Cambodia

For entering Cambodia, travellers need to buy a local health insurance package that covers at least $50,000( around ₹37,18,627.50 ) for COVID-19, valid for 20 days.

For Aruba, incoming passengers need to buy COVID-19 travel insurance from the Aruba government.

3. Bahamas

International travellers aged 18 and older travelling to the Bahamas need to receive a Bahamas Travel Health Visa. The visa cost will vary for vaccinated and non-vaccinated travellers.

4. Jamaica

Incoming passengers need to pay a compulsory fee of $40 as part of the “Jamaica Cares” program for covering COVID-19 related medical expenses. The program incorporates travel medical insurance up to $100,000/person and on-island health coverage up to $50,000.

5. St. Maarten

Incoming passengers need to buy COVID-19 insurance from the St. Maarten government. The insurance is free for children below 14 years of age and $15 for those age 15 and above.

6. Ukraine

Incoming travellers must purchase an insurance policy issued by a Ukraine-registered insurance company for the coverage of COVID-19 related expenses.

Countries That Have Mentioned Lower Limits For Insurance

Those travelling to Chile need to show proof of a health insurance policy that covers COVID-19 medical expenses including a minimum of $30,000 in coverage. For those visiting Thailand, the minimum travel insurance amount for COVID-19 expenses is $100,000.
