Wednesday morning did not start on a usual note in Telangana. Rather, people were shocked to experience an earthquake and its tremors early in the morning. Telangana woke up to an earthquake on December 4 and its vibrations were felt even kilometres away from the epicentre. Tremors Jolted Telangana With A 5.3 Magnitude Earthquake

Taking to the X (formerly Twitter) platform, the National Center for Seismology (@NCS_Earthquake) shared information about the recent quake in this Indian state.

On Wednesday morning, at 7:27 AM, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale struck the Mulugu district in Telangana. The epicentre was 40 km deep. The latitude and longitude of the earthquake were 18.44 north and 80.24 east. According to information provided by the National Center for Seismology, the earthquake began in Mulugu. Soon, its tremors were felt in Hyderabad. In fact, several areas in Andhra Pradesh reported vibrations as well.

Tremors reported in different places triggered panic among many. People were scared to face a natural disaster and started to panic. Shockingly, mild trembles were reported in Nagpur in Maharashtra and Gadchiroli near the Telangana border as well, followed by the 5.3-magnitude earthquake in Mulugu. Both locals and the India Meteorological Department confirmed the light tremors experienced in these districts.

The National Centre for Seismology evaluated the natural disaster and shared all about the quake on its official website. According to several reports, the quake was experienced in more places including Bhadrachalam, BHEL, Khammam, Kothagudem, RC Puram, Sangareddy, and Warangal. Officials of the India Meteorological Department further added that mild shocks were felt within a radius of 200-300 km of the epicentre.

No Casualties Reported

Following the earthquake this morning, there were no immediate reports of casualties. In addition, no reports stated any significant damage to lives and properties in the affected areas. Gladly, no one was hurt badly. Soon, the concerned departments started evaluating the incident to find more relevant information.
