2025 is almost here and it looks like the new year will witness some interesting changes in the travel behaviour of vacationers. Booking.com’s annual Travel Predictions are out and it reveals nine interesting trends that we will see in the new year. So, scroll on and check them all out.

In 2025, travellers want to redefine how they experience and engage with the world around them and it will greatly influence their travel choices in the new year. According to Booking.com’s annual Travel Predictions report, travellers are ‘rewriting their playbook’ in 2025 and defying norms of age, gender, and what society thinks a typical vacation should look like. Travelling in the new year will be more about self-discovery, deep connections, and personal growth.

For this report, Booking.com commissioned research among more than 27,000 travellers across 33 countries including India. With this data, they have come up with 9 travel predictions for the new year. These trends underscore a shift towards more personal, inclusive and immersive travel experiences.

9 Travel Trends To Watch Out For In The New Year

So, what does travel look like in 2025? According to Booking.com’s report, the following trends will shape the travel industry in the new year-

1. Noctourism – Nocturnal tourism refers to travelling to experience the night in all its glory. The report shows that 78% of Indian travellers want to stargaze and 76% are willing to travel for once-in-a-lifetime celestial events.
2. Passport to Immortality – 83% Indian travellers have shown interest in longevity retreats for deep revitalisation and 79% are willing to pay for vacations focused on extending lifespan and well-being.
3. AI : Alternative Itineraries – In 2025, travellers will be using powerful AI tools to design alternative itineraries based on personal preferences and the needs of the destinations they hope to visit.
4. Multigen Megatrips – Booking.com predicts that the trend of spending a child’s inheritance is set to continue in 2025. 46% of Indian travellers want to spend their money on a bucket-list trip rather than leaving an inheritance to their children.
5. Boyz II Zen – Travel in 2025 will defy gender norms and expectations. The report saw a growing awareness around male mental health and men-only retreats focusing on wellbeing and personal growth.
6. Ageless Adventures – Baby boomers are redefining adventure travel as 30% have shown interest in activities like sand surfing, skydiving, cave diving, camping in Antarctica, and even volcano boarding.
7. Neuroinclusive Navigation – Travellers with neurodivergent needs wish for a more inclusive approach to travel in the new year.
8. Vintage Voyaging – Sustainability and careful budgeting remain key focuses in 2025 as 78% Indians are tightening budgets to maximise travel experiences.
9. The Gate Escape – Airport entertainment will be a big trend in 2025 as millennials and Gen Z are particularly interested in airport features like sleep pods, spas, and Michelin-star restaurants.
