The Maharashtra government has introduced the state’s first scuba diving boat at Tarkarli MTDC, Sindhurdurg. The Armour dive boat was launched by state tourism minister Aaditya Thackeray on February 21, 2022. Thackeray also took the boat for a short ride on the waters. This new boat will assist in promoting adventure tourism in Maharashtra. It will also help in the generation of employment for the locals, as stated by Thackeray.

The new scuba dive boat facility at Tarkarli MTDC is located around 550 kilometres away from Mumbai. It would take around 11 hours to reach the spot from Mumbai via NH48. Tarkarli is one of the cleanest and most pristine white sand beaches on the Konkon coast of Maharashtra. It is located in the Malvan taluka of Sindhurdurg district. Tourists at Tarkarli beach can enjoy a plethora of water sports activities like scuba diving, jet-skiing, parasailing, speedboat ride, snorkelling, banana ride and more.
