We love Chef Saloni’s recipes as she always shares quite easy procedures to cook and bake. Be it savoury delicacies or sweet treats, her videos provide all the necessary information. This time, she showed us how to cook dahi bhindi in her new cooking series ’30 days of How India eats Dahi’.

If you are bored of eating the same chutney, dips, curd rice, and raita with dahi, it is time to try something new, something very unique. Bhindi is one of the most loved vegetables and the blend of this veggie and curd is just perfect to satiate our cravings, even in this scorching heat when we do not feel like eating a proper meal.

Most importantly, the recipe shared by Chef Saloni is simple and even beginners can try their hands at cooking dahi bhindi at home.

Here’s The Recipe To Cook Dahi Bhindi:

Ingredients: 

  • 250 gm Bhindi
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 1 Tomato
  • 1 cup Curd
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • 1 tbsp Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1 tbsp Gram Flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Fennel Seeds
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Red Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala
  • 1/2 tsp Kasuri Methi
  • Coriander Leaves

Recipe: 

  • Wash bhindi and cut into desired size.
  • Take a bowl and prepare a paste by adding curd and gram flour.
  • Next, take a pan, and add some oil to fry bhindi until the pieces become crispy and golden-brown. Once done, take the vegetable out of the pan.
  • In the same oil, add fennel seeds, coriander seeds, sesame seeds, chopped onions, and ginger garlic paste, and saute everything for a couple of minutes.
  • Then, add ginger garlic paste and chopped tomatoes. Once the tomatoes are cooked, add salt, sugar, coriander powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, and turmeric powder.
  • Drizzle some water and cover the pan for about 6 minutes.
  • Once done, pour the curd and gram flour mixture into the masala and cook well. You can even add some water depending on your desired consistency.
  • Then, add fried bhindi and toss everything well.
  • Lastly, sprinkle some kasuri methi and garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
