1. Keylong

Many places in Himachal receive fresh snow in Himachal Pradesh, but Keylong has consistently maintained being one of the coldest places in Himachal Pradesh. Keylong is located in the northern part of Himachal Pradesh along the Manali-Leh highway close to the Chandra Valley, the Bhaga Valley, and the Chenab Valley. The town has reported a minimum temperature of -14 degrees Celsius.

2. Pahalgam

3. Gulmarg

Another popular tourist destination in Kashmir is Gulmarg. It is also one of the coldest places in the country. Snow-covered mountains envelop Gulmarg during the winter, and the temperatures drop below zero regularly. This winter, the city reported a minimum temperature of -6 degrees Celsius.

4. Srinagar

Srinagar is not only a popular tourist spot but also one of the coldest cities in the country. They say when you are in Srinagar, you cannot miss a boat ride on Dal Lake in the wee hours of the morning even when it is freezing. 6. Kalpa

Himachal Pradesh’s most scenic village Kalba recorded a minimum temperature of -0.6 degrees Celsius this year. The temperatures usually drop to -15 in peak winters. During this time, the whole valley is covered in white magic with frozen drops of rain falling from the sky.

7. Banihal

Located about 35 km away from Qazigund in J&K, Banihal is a rural area that reported a minimum temperature of -0.4 degrees Celsius this year. Also, gear up to see Kashmir like never before with the Banihal-Baramulla Railway line.

8. North Sikkim

Home to the Kanchenjunga, North Sikkim is one of the coldest places in the country. Every year temperatures drop to – 40 degrees C. However, the scenic beauty of places like Zero Point and Lachung monastery makes North Sikkim worth a visit.

Located in the Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, Sela Pass is at an elevation of 13,700 feet. The pass connects Tawang to Tezpur and Guwahati. 10. Munsiyari

 Located in Uttarakhand’s Pithoragarh, Munsiyari is at an elevation of about 2,200 m. Popular as a trekking destination, temperatures drop to – 10 degrees C during winter months. However, the snow-clad peaks surrounding this place are a sight to behold.
