In a surprising turn of events, a freight car or goods train travelled around 80 kilometres without a driver! This unusual incident took place on February 25, Sunday between Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. A full investigation of the incident has been launched. According to an article which was recently published by The Indian Express, this particular freight train managed to cover a distance of 80 kilometres without a driver! The train started moving on its own at around 7 AM after it reached Kathua Railway Station.

The train could only be stopped in Hoshiarpur in Punjab. This was done by placing wooden blocks on tracks and reducing its speed. The railway staff of Ucchi Bassi Railway Station stopped the train and managed to do this at around 8 AM.

As per the sources cited in The Indian Express article, the train had 53 bogies. Before anyone could act, the train gained speed and started moving at a speed of 60 to 70 kilometres per hour. The Railways has launched an investigation of the situation.

It is believed that the driver forgot to pull the brakes of the train before he exited the cabin. Luckily, no damage or loss of life was reported during the incident. Videos of the driverless train are surfacing on the X (formerly known as Twitter). Many people have given hilarious reactions to it.
