The hotel room that you choose to stay in during your vacation can either make or break your trip. While booking accommodation, the most important thing to check is whether the room is clean and if the facilities are well provided. On top of that, the world has changed a lot over the past 2 years because of the Covid-19 pandemic and now hygiene and cleanliness are the most important factors to consider in a hotel room.
Once you check into the room, you might feel that it is clean and properly organised. With the lights of the hotel rooms and the way it is decorated, the rooms look to be just perfect. But the truth is that dirt and germs stay inside that room even after getting cleaned by the hotel staff. If you want to make sure that your booked room is clean, then follow these steps once you check-in.
Here’s How To Check If Your Hotel Room Is Actually Hygienic
Check The Most Used Spots
The places and spots that are often used in hotels are elevators, the door handles, and the beds inside the rooms. So make sure to check such places properly before you start using them. Once you make sure that everything is hygienic, you won’t have to worry anymore and you can stay in your room without stressing about hygiene.
Do Not Use The Glassware Provided In The Hotel Room
Once you enter the hotel room, you can see that it has quite a few glasses and cups on a table. The hotel authorities provide these glasswares so that you can enjoy beverages or drink water using these. The housekeeping staff cleans this glassware but this does not guarantee that it kills all the germs and stains. So if you really want to use the glassware, rush to the washroom and wash the glasses and cups thoroughly for at least one minute under warm water.
Check If The Bathroom Is Clean
After the guest checks out from the hotel room, the staff makes sure to clean the washroom. Now there might be instances when they have not cleaned every corner of the washroom thoroughly. And we all know the consequences of an unhygienic bathroom. So make sure to scan through the entire washroom properly before you start using it.
Shift Things & Check
When you open the door of your hotel room and enter, everything looks just like a picture. Unfortunately, there is a lot hidden behind that glorious picture. Move the movable small objects in the room and inspect everything very precisely. Chances are that you may find dirt behind these things. There have been many instances when the housekeeping staff does not clean the room properly, rather they just swipe a bit.
