Whatever the name is, everyone loves to gorge on this scrumptious snack from street stalls and vendors. But one thing that often concerns us is hygiene management. Most street vendors do not really focus on keeping the stalls clean and washing away everything unsanitary. How To Make Street-Style Pani Puri At Home?

Prepare The Puris

The outer crunchy crust of this snack is known as puri and it takes time to make this. To prepare puri, you will need the following ingredients:

  • Semolina
  • Flour
  • Baking Soda
  • Oil
  • Salt
  • Water To Knead

Start with making a dough with semolina, flour, and a pinch of baking soda to make the puris super crispy and crunchy. Knead everything well for some time with water and keep it aside. Then cut out small balls from the dough and roll them into thin circular layers. Fry them till they turn golden-brown and crispy. That’s it and you are done with making the puri.

Prepare The Stuffing

For preparing the stuffing to stuff the puris, you need to make a spicy mixture of potatoes and lots of other ingredients. List of ingredients for the stuffing:

  • Boiled Potatoes
  • Sprouts
  • Salt
  • Boondi
  • Salt
  • Chaat Masala
  • Cumin Powder
  • Coriander

For the stuffing of the pani puri, mix all these ingredients nicely until the different masalas mix evenly with the potatoes. Make sure to add spices according to the quantity of the boiled potatoes. Puri stuffed with potato mixture is meant to dip into a large container of pudina pani and then served. Preparing this pudina pani takes only some minutes and a concoction of a lot of ingredients. Required ingredients for the pani are:

  • Mint Leaves
  • Coriander
  • Green Chilli
  • Lemon Juice
  • Ginger
  • Boondi
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • Chaat Masala
  • Chilli Powder

You will need a grinder to grind mint leaves, coriander, green chilli, lemon juice, and ginger into a smooth paste. Also, add a little bit of water to the mixture for the paste to be smooth. Take a container and pour the green mixture into it. Now, add salt, sugar, chaat masala, chilli powder, boondi, and a lot of water. Stir the mixture nicely so that everything gets infused well. At last, take a sip and see if you need to add any more masala. If required, add accordingly and mix it well again.
